Can you believe Parker gained 1 pound since last Monday?!! Wil and I can tell his belly is rounding out, but we never dreamed he gained a whole pound in a week. Dr. Ray told us to keep up the breastfeeding. We need to continue waking him up for daytime feedings every 2 to 3 hours, but great news on nighttime feedings. We get to wait until Parker wakes us up (probably at least once every 4 hours)! On the downside for Mommy, Dr. Ray said now is the best time to send Parker to his own room and crib at night. I know it's best to start this process now, but it was comforting having him next to us in his bassinet at night. Looks like we'll be setting up the video monitor that Mimi and Dan-dad gave us. We're also going to start giving Parker vitamin D drops. Apparently, that's the one thing that is lacking in breast milk. Parker gets to start "tummy time" soon. Hopefully, he won't mind it.
We go back for his next checkup at 2 months old (5/3/11).
Dr. Ray's office is in the Health Springs... Dan-dad's dentist office just happens to be in the same building. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop and say hello.
