Chocolate Cake

When Amanda is in town, we always bake something. We decided on a chocolate cake made from scratch! Wil went out and got all the ingredients, and I'll admit it -- Roomie & I were intimidated by Paula  Deen's recipe. It took over 6 hours from start to finish (mostly because the chocolate mousse had to be refrigerated for at least 4 hours). It was so much fun and delicious!!!

Okay -- So here's the finished cake! DELICIOUS! As we were baking, we kept saying, "Don't look at the calories, just don't look." Well, we looked at the calories in the heavy whipping cream -- 2,800! So, we decided to add it up. Can you guess how many calories are in that cake?

11,990! Yes. Nearly 12,000 calories!!!

We split a piece that night and ate more throughout the next several days. Don't worry though. We shared all those calories with lots of people -- 2 different sets of neighbors, Wil's parents, Amanda's parents, Dan, and my sister.
