We decided last Thursday night to go to Chicago for Memorial Weekend. Amanda (aka "Roomie") lives there, and we hadn't seen her since Christmas! In fact, it'd been a year since we visited Chicago last. Are you thinking we're nuts? Yes, we were a little nervous about dragging Parker to Chicago... He's been sleeping through the night, and the last thing we wanted was to ruin that. We decided to leave Friday night, since Parker would be asleep anyway. Our intent was to just drive half way Friday night (to Terre Haute) and to drive the rest of the way Saturday morning. I guess we should have planned better. I booked the Econo Lodge on the way, and it was a DUMP!!! No exaggeration. It was awful! We spent an hour trying to find another hotel, but they were all booked... So, we just drove on through to Chicago. Final arrival time = 1:30 AM!

| I wish we had a better picture of this place. This was just the check-in building. The actual rooms were in 5 separate buildings. |
Amanda and Dan planned a little cookout for Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, it rained all day... but that didn't stop us! Poor Dan grilled in the rain, and the burgers were great!
